Celebrities Scott Cam, Sophie Monk, Brooke Boney and Michael 'Wippa' Wipfli were asked to make a model of a LEGO set they would've dreamed of finding under the Christmas tree, for their second LEGO® Masters Bricksmas challenge.
This challenge would decide the winner of Bricksmas, who will have $20,000 of LEGO donated to the Kmart Wishing Tree Appeal on their behalf, and take home the Bricksmas trophy. For judging and the big reveal the finished builds were placed inside these large Christmas gift boxes, which had been sitting under a large LEGO Christmas tree made of 64,000 bricks that took Brickman 40 hours to make. "The trick with this build is to design the ultimate LEGO set which consists of things that you've always wanted. For example's sake, if you've been into space, you want to make the ultimate moon base... It can be absolutely anything," Brickman explained. "LEGO has the unmistakable shaking of the box: what is it? what's it gonna be? Put yourself in the situation of being a child anticipating the most incredible thing you've ever dreamt and wished for. It's your mission to turn that into a reality." Brickman's three judging criteria for the 12-hour build were minifigure scale, playability and desirability. For the build, each team got an hour of Brickman's assistance. Brooke and Michael got the added advantage of Hamish's help for one hour after winning the Episode 1 challenge. |
